Talk2mebro

Background and Purpose

Talk2mebro was established in 2018 with a singular goal: To reduce the number of suicides in Australia.

Born from the understanding that early intervention and open conversations are key: Our mission is to empower Men and Women to take control of their wellbeing, reduce the stigma, and educate around mental health awareness, and suicide prevention.

At Talk2mebro, we believe in fostering a culture where individuals can heal. Our Mission is big yet profound: ‘To Reduce Suicide to ZERO in Australia.’

We believe to achieve this, we need to ‘Start and Support Healing at Critical Mass’. Helping individuals and communities to build resilience, enhance their mental wellbeing and find hope in their darkest moments.

As a grassroots, community-driven charity, we are committed to facilitating programs that not only educate but also create lasting change. Since our inception, we’ve reached over 90,000 people face-to-face, delivering impactful programs and events in Newcastle, across NSW and Australia. From schools and workplaces to sporting clubs and rural communities, Talk2mebro meets people where they are, ensuring that no one feels left behind.

Our Approach: A Holistic Model for Impact:

  • Education and Awareness: Through seminars and workshops, we provide practical tools to tackle mental health challenges and foster open communication.
  • Community and Connection: We create safe spaces for people to connect, share, and heal, knowing that genuine human connection can be life-changing.
  • Rapid Growth and Reach: In 2024 alone, we facilitated programs for over 30,000 individuals, expanding our reach into rural areas, Aboriginal communities, and creating hubs that support our Pacific communities.

At Talk2mebro, we believe that suicide is preventable and that every life matters. Together, we can create a future where no one feels alone, and no one feels like suicide is their only option.
